Modern Shelving offers wall-mounted and pole-mounted systems. Wall-mounted systems are supported by the wall, while pole-mounted systems include compression floor-to-ceiling and semi-wall-mounted options. The best choice depends on your wall type, ceiling height, storage needs, and overall design goals.

We are a California based, woman owned company located in San Clemente California. All of our customer orders, including web site orders are made to order for each customer in our California factory. The wood shelves and cabinets are shipped separately from the aluminum hardware via FEDEX Ground or via Freight depending on the total size of the order. Clear Satin Anodized hardware orders may ship within 2-6 days. Powder coated aluminum colors including black and white are sent out for processing if not in stock and can take 10-14 days. Please let us know if you have a deadline and we will do our best to make it happen according to your schedule.

No attachment is necessary when using the compression kit to secure the pole in place. The shelves go between the poles and the wall and do need to rest up against the wall.

Many customers who are comfortable assembling furniture can install the system using the provided instructions. For larger, custom, or heavier configurations, some customers prefer using a handyman or contractor. Modern Shelving also provides installation resources, downloadable guides, videos, and support calls.

Weight capacity depends on the system and configuration. Many standard shelves are listed at 80 lbs per shelf, while PAL modular aluminum shelves are listed at 100 lbs per shelf. For best stability, heavier items should be placed on lower shelves and weight should be distributed evenly.

Yes. Modern Shelving offers free design help and custom-fit shelving solutions for unique spaces. The design team can help with layout, sizing, finishes, and configurations before you order

Yes. The Modern Shelving Trade Program offers preferred pricing, custom 3D design services, samples and estimates, and dedicated support from design through delivery and installation.
